The teaser trailer provides glimpses of the supernatural side to the Tekken Universe, complete with Jin displaying superpowers and him and Jun being menaced by the Ogre. The upcoming anime series Bloodline subtitle is a reference to Jin's sinister lineage and his own corrosive Devil Gene that allows him to tap into some truly hellish abilities. Jin would similarly have his own complicated character arc throughout the Tekken series, often acting towards what he thinks is best but with his violent impulses and recklessness usually yielding cataclysmic consequences for the entire world. While introduced as a hero, Kazuya had followed in his father's footsteps to become an antagonist himself, a distinction he carried into his guest appearance in Super Smash Bros.

Following his grandfather's betrayal, Jin transformed into his devil form, and soundly defeated Heihachi.Įven apart from his inherited Devil Gene, Jin has battled with his dark side all his life, despite his mother's teachings to maintain control. With both Kazuya and Jin possessing this gene through their familial link to Heihachi, they are able to transform into monstrous devils themselves. However, Heihachi had his own longstanding history with the Ogre, using the creature's blood in an effort to achieve his own devilish evolution and unlock his full potential through a Devil Gene in his DNA. One of the major twists in Tekken 3 is that, upon destroying the Ogre and avenging his mother, Jin was betrayed by Heihachi and seemingly killed.
